Yoga is an ancient practice with a very modern day application. Practiced regularly it will improve our body’s strength and flexibility, redress physical imbalances that our lives create and calm our minds leaving us energised and ready to take on the world (or maybe just the household chores :o))
My teaching is grounded and based around dynamic alignment and movement efficiency in which we explore principles and techniques to improve strength, stability and fluidity to guide us towards precise, clear alignment. Slow transitions between the sequences of poses, integrated with the breath, allow the individual to fully experience each pose, providing the opportunity to achieve stability and awareness. I use props, where needed, to encourage students to reach poses more easily and safely and sessions could take on an energetic flow, be a practice to work on a particular quality or be a gentler practice for recuperation and healing.
Whether Yoga is your sole activity or a compliment to other activities, whether you are a beginner or an experienced Yogi, whatever shape you are or intention you have, try Yoga and see how it can improve your health, enrich your enjoyment of life, reduce stress at work and improve your sporting performance.
